Congregate Nutrition
Meals are offered at senior/community centers throughout the County. The opportunity to socialize with peers is as important a part of the program as the meal itself. Special programs, cards, games, or time to "just chat" are available at the nutrition sites during the week.

Ancillary Services
- 352 ENP prepared frozen holiday meals provided to congregate participants
- 2,678 nutritional education units provided to congregate meal participants.
- 300 fraud alert notices were provided to congregate meal participants.
Socialization
Many seniors suffer from depression and loneliness and need a reason to leave their homes. Social contact with friends and acquaintances is an important component of the congregate dining experience. Classes, activities and celebrations held before, during and after the noon luncheon also enhance the experience and promote improved health and well-being of seniors.
Program Outcomes
- 85% agreed that participating in the lunch program had improved the quality of their lives.
- 79% agrees that participating in the program had made them feel less isolated and/or alone.
- 75% found that they worried less about food after they started participating in the lunch program.
- 74% reported being able to afford other essentials because of their participation in the lunch program.
- 46% agreed that their health had improved because of eating our nutritionally balanced meals.
- 54% stated that they had more energy for everyday activities because of the lunch program.
Community Volunteers
More than 88 community volunteers assisted at the site kitchens and dining rooms, contributing 12,700 hours.
